Caffe by Rosines

In reimagining this well positioned corner of a busy shopping precinct, we transformed an old Starbucks shell into Caffe by Rosine’s — a space that feels both timeless and newly discovered.  Owned and operated  by the owners of the beloved Rosine’s restaurant in Downtown Monterey, the Caffe is stocked daily with the same home made recipes and sweet treats that have given the restaurant such a loyal following.  The Caffe was anticipated with much excitement.

We approached this commercial renovation with a singular focus: create a place where community, comfort, and craft converge. What was once a branded retail interior is now a refined yet approachable cafe that responds to its context — light-filled, warm, and quietly intentional. Gentle wood tones and patterned tile ground the entry, while custom joinery and soft, layered seating invite people to linger. Thoughtful lighting and calming color bring balance to the everyday rhythm of coffee culture.

Caffe by Rosine’s is more than a place to grab a cup — it is a backdrop for connection, work, and quiet moments in between. Here, design supports hospitality without overwhelming it.
