Westside Homestead

This ideally located home had much outdated functionality with a tiny kitchen, only one bathroom (no ensuite for the primary) and no connectivity to the back yard for entertaining. The clients love the street and their community in the area and were keen to reinvent the home to suit their needs and aesthetic rather than relocate.

We were able to reorganize the entire ground floor, add a dedicated primary bedroom with separate access to the yard and its own bathroom and an entirely new custom mahogany kitchen. In the space the kitchen originally occupied we designed a fully custom library / den / guest room reminiscent of a yacht, fully lined with mahogany shelving to house the clients book collection and serve as a cosy TV viewing or reading space. A drawer pulls out to act as a bed base and the custom upholstery pieces convert the platform into a guest bed in a matter of seconds.
